Research Leads in Schools
Establishing Research Leads in Schools. The aim of the conference is to establish a network of research leads across the North West
Meols Cop High School as part of the North Sefton Coastal Alliance will be holding a unique opportunity to find out how an enquiry based approach, rooted in effective educational research, can develop and transform teaching and learning.
The conference will showcase the latest thinking of how effective research can be used across schools to have an impact on the outcomes of all students.
There will also be an opportunity to listen and ask questions to practitioners who have developed their own enquiries throughout the year.
WHO IS IT AIMED AT?
Senior leaders interested in establishing a research lead in their school to facilitate an enquiry based approach to the development of teaching and learning.
Professor Robert Coe from the School of Education and Director of the Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring (CEM), Durham University. His research interests are wide-ranging and include: evaluation methodology; Evidence-Based Education and the involvement of practitioners in research.
Dr Gary Jones, worked in post-compulsory education for over 25 years. Gary has a doctorate in educational management from the University of Bristol and is interested in the art and craft of vocational pedagogy and evidence-informed practice.
Alex Quigley is the Director of Learning and Research at Huntington Secondary School, York. He is the Project Lead of the RISE (Research-leads Improving Students’ Education) Project. An EEF funded randomized controlled trial to evaluate if and how a Research-lead can improve outcomes for students.
Representative from the Education Endowment Foundation, an independent grant-making charity dedicated to breaking the link between family income and educational achievement.
