Reducing Workload – “An Evidence based Approach” Conference – 29th June 2017

Meols Cop High School, a designated EEF Research School, will be holding a unique opportunity to find out about how an evidence based approach, rooted in effective educational research, can help to reduce workload in schools.

The conference will not only demonstrate strategies that have effectively helped to reduce workload but also had measurable impact on student outcomes.

There will be opportunities to listen and ask questions of practitioners who have developed their own evidence based approaches.

SPEAKERS:

Stephen Tierney is the CEO of the Blessed Edward Bamber Catholic Multi Academy Trust. He is fascinated by leadership, learning, pedagogy and the curriculum. He has written a book called Liminal Leadership which is based on his reflections of thirty years of leading and learning; it is written for teachers and leaders who want to reflect on their current or future practice. @leadinglearner

Stuart Kime is a director of Evidence Based Education. He qualified as a teacher in England in 2001, spent ten years in teaching and school leadership, studied for a Masters degree and a PhD in Education at Durham University, and has been involved in international education consultancy since 2012. Stuart is co-author of the EEF’s DIY Evaluation Guide. His areas of specialism include: school improvement; evidence-based education; evidence-based policy; use of research in decision-making; research-lead development; getting the most out of ability and progress data; evaluation of impact; student evaluation of teaching; middle leadership development. @EvidenceInEdu

Dr Gary Jones, worked in post-compulsory education for over 25 years. Gary has a doctorate in education management from the University of Bristol and is interested in the art and craft of vocational pedagogy and evidence-informed practice. @DrGaryJones

Representatives from the Education Endowment Foundation, an independent grant-making charity dedicated to breaking the link between family income and education.
